Russia has launched a furious attack against the UK and sent a terrifying warning as WW3 fears soar to alarming levels. The Kremlin has today raged against Britain for giving Ukraine the ability to make Anglo-French Storm Shadow missiles.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham was in Kyiv today to promise Volodymyr Zelensky the secret blueprints for the deadly weapons. Asked about the Kremlin’s view on Mr Burnham’s move, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said threateningly that Britain was now “participating in this war”. Moscow’s view was “extremely negative” he said, adding: “Britain is participating in this war.” Putin’s spokesman said: “It is participating in this war on the side of the Kyiv regime. Britain methodically and regularly pours fuel on the fire and methodically and regularly plots to prevent any progress in the peace process. This is precisely what Britain is doing.

“Our armed forces are conducting the relevant work, obtaining the relevant information in order to identify the production sites of such missiles, the production sites of other military equipment, and are taking measures to destroy these sites.”

Releasing classified information to Kyiv on British Storm Shadow missile components will allow Ukraine to manufacture the Anglo-French weapons for use in the war.

Stocks of the weapons supplied to Ukraine by London and Paris have run low, according to reports.

Mr Burnham has arrived in Ukraine to underline the UK’s support for the country on his first foreign trip as Prime Minister.

On Monday morning, he laid a wreath and flowers at the graves of Ukrainian soldiers at the National Military Cemetery, as part of events marking the country’s independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

During the ceremony, he spoke to Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who told the Prime Minister “we are in a war period,” and warned of Ukraine’s difficulties repelling Russian ballistic missile attacks. Mr Burnham also met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Ahead of the trip, Mr Burnham announced that the UK would help Ukraine produce long-range Scalp missiles by sharing blueprints for its British components with Kyiv.

The weapons are the French-produced versions of the UK’s Storm Shadow, which Ukraine has been using to hit targets in Russia, and Kyiv and Paris are looking to set up local assembly lines to produce them in the country.

Mr Burnham said: “Russia should be in no doubt of our resolve. We will not back down until there is a just and lasting peace.”

President Zelensky vowed his country would “not submit” to Russia as he presented Mr Burnham with an award recognising the UK’s support for his country.

In a defiant speech marking Ukraine’s 35th Independence Day in front of the Saint Sophia cathedral in Kyiv, Mr Zelensky said: “Ukrainians will not be cobblestones under the feet of tsars and rulers. Ukrainians will not submit.”

He also gave awards to members of the military and posthumous acknowledgements to family members of soldiers killed in the war sparked by Russia’s invasion.

In addition, President Zelensky awarded honours to world leaders present, including one to Mr Burnham titled Honorary Distinction to the British People, Gratitude of the Ukrainian People.
